surprised the only way to access them is to hack away at the case.

In the future maybe a revised case design could have removable covers that click into place to cover the ports if they’re not used?

Hi Andy

The reason we chose the current design, is due to a range of factors. With price of course being a factor, and combine that with the fact that we expect most users to not use the connectors, we had a hard time to justify the increase in price for such a design change. As that would increase the complexity quite a bit, we chose the middle ground, by having the decreased thickness that allows for easier removal of the cutouts.

Also, the users who utilize those connectors may also use the RPI3 adapter, where the case is not compatible, so that further lowers the number of people who has to modify the case to access the connectors.

We will consider it for a future iteration though.
