SIM card setup process

Hi,

I would like to know if there is a way to power Autopi with power bank or my laptop and configure APN settings for the SIM card from home?

Hi,

yesterday I learned that you can power on the autopi dongle from home by sending an sms to the number associated with the sim installed in the dongle.
Assuming you first configured APN settings and performed initial configuration.

Best regards,
Pravin

Thanks for the answer, but I am interested to know if I can setup autopi dongle at home before taking it to the car.

I’m sorry, stil a noob for that matter

Hi @paulius,

I wish I saw this OBD-II Power Cable before making a purchase. Any suggestion where to purchase
the power supply that is compatible with this cable?

Hi @paulius

Any DC power supply should do. The cable has a DC connector in one end.

I dont know if im late to the party or not but to inform anyone else looking, you should use a 5-5.1V DC with at least 3 amps. the device wont use all 3 amps, just what it needs. I have been working with raspberry Pi for a while now and this is a great platform. I have the telemetrics kit and I set it up before it went in my car.
