GPIO current & voltage specs

Hello, I’m thinking of getting a AutoPi for a project and wanted to first check if someone knows what the current & voltage specs of the GPIO pins are? given that the connections mostly uses 12v, would I need to get some extra relays / transistors to interact with 12v from the GPIO? is it 5v?

The current and voltage specs, follows that of the Raspberry Pi Zero.

Did you manage to signal the autopi with external sensors?

If so, use it possible to wake up autopi when a sensor is activated?
